Welcome from the Principal

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the Richland Middle School. We have a great faculty and staff to help 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th graders further their  education.

The Richland Middle School is a great place that offers a lot of new and exciting opportunities. Besides the academics (see Academic Programs), students have opportunities to participate in both vocal and instrumental music, athletics—football, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, and track, SADD, Student Council, Art Club, Peer Mediation, and Forensics.  During the school year we have school dances/open gyms, mini units, assemblies, community service events, and numerous other activities.

Students at the middle school have more chances to make choices and have more responsibilities than when at the elementary level.  Organization and completion of homework on time, along with respect and good manners, are emphasized at RMS. Students are encouraged to use their assignment book daily, not to have late homework, and to be to class on time.
