Have you ever been in a flood?  Do you know floods can destroy property and crops? You should read this in case of a flood in your town.

     The average amount of damage from a flood is more than 2 billion dollars.

 A normal flood can lasts from few minutes to a few hours. At large rivers a flood might last for a few hours to a couple of days. When a series of floods happen, floods might last for a several weeks.

   Floods start when rain falls for to long and the water in the river raises and goes over the banks.

   Hundreds of people die from floods. The most people that died in a flood were 1,000,000 in China. This flood was caused by the Yellow river. Another flood killed 139 people. That flood caused by the big Thompson River in 1976.

       IF you have learned a lot about floods than that’s excellent.  We hoped you didn’t have to wear your boots when you were reading this. We simply tried to flood you with information.

Some people come around town after floods with boats to help transport the person’s stuff.
