In Memory of Sandra Ann Reetz

Sandra Ann Reetz was a math teacher at Richland Middle School from the fall of 2000 until the spring of 2005 when she took a leave of absence to fight a battle with cancer.  However, she passed away on November 18, 2006.

Mrs. Reetz was the first female industrial arts teacher hired in the state of Wisconsin at Columbus Middle School; after her marriage to Rod Reetz, she substitute taught for a year, and then was hired at Richland Center High School where she taught industrial arts from 1979-1987.  She took a leave of absence to raise her two children but continued to substitute teach during that time.  In 1994 she returned to Richland School District as the Gifted and Talented coordinator and in 2000 began teaching at RMS as a math and science teacher.

Mrs. Reetz loved to teach—whether it was her industrial arts students, her gifted and talented students, or her math and science students.  She was multitalented and incorporated her interest in woodworking, stained glass, and gardening into her classroom projects.  We greatly miss her.

As a tribute to Sandy Reetz, our teacher, our friend, we created a special science fair award to honor runners up to the Bob Pittman Award.  We also planted greenery around the school sign.

As a staff and student body, we are thankful for her many contributions to make RMS a great place to work and learn.
