Advisory Task Force Meeting #5 - April 30, 2020

If you did not get a chance to view the ATF Meeting on Thursday, April 30, 2020, we have included the video of the presentation below.  Most of the initial part of the video was a recap of the 4th meeting, along with some additional questions/answers.  To view the Operational Cost Assessment (new information) from Mr. Burke, start the video at the 29:40 mark.  However, you can always start the presentation from the beginning and view in its entirety.  

Results of a survey taken after this meeting will be shared at the Buildings, Property, and Transportation Committee meeting on Thursday evening.  That meeting will be available via Zoom.com

Advisory Task Force Meeting #4 Material


On Thursday (April 23) evening, the fourth Advisory Task Force (ATF) meeting was held.  The meeting was held virtually, via Zoom.com and had a very good turnout, with over 55 people in attendance.  The main purpose of this meeting was for FEH Design to present nine different building configurations, which were studied as a result of public, staff, and community input during the first three ATF meetings, as well as the Design Workshop, held in February.  In addition, attendees were able to participate in Question & Answer sessions at various points throughout the presentation.  

After the presentation concluded and all questions had been addressed, participants were asked to fill out a three-question survey to gauge what support a potential referendum would have, in terms of dollar amount and tax impact.

Join our T.E.A.M.S! 

The Richland School District has begun a planning effort to assess facility code, maintenance, and space needs required to deliver current and future curriculum services. We are identifying this process as T.E.A.M.S., which stands for Together Envisioning A Master Strategy.  This is a significant investment, so to gather input, the Core Planning Committee has initiated a public planning process with a goal of determining the community’s long-term vision for the school district. The architectural and engineering firm, FEH DESIGN, will be facilitating a public engagement process for this analysis.

A public Advisory Task Force (ATF) will be created and charged with the tasks of:
-Reviewing the Goals for Success that have been drafted by the Core Planning Committee members
-Identifying possible needs & options to study
-Developing criteria to evaluate potential solutions
-Prioritizing of the criteria
-Participating in the planning workshop
-Recommending to the Core Planning Committee the preferred solutions to meet the needs and community vision.

The members’ intent is to gather as much public input as possible; a primary strategy for this is to establish the Advisory Task Force (ATF) made up of a cross section of area residents including residents, business representatives, related institutions, and community leaders. As a valued member of our RSD Community, we extend an invitation for you to attend, and be a part of, the Advisory Task Force.   

We would be honored to have you accept our invitation to participate in helping our community with this important process. The commitment will be completed by mid-March and will involve only five evening meetings to be held locally. The kick-off meeting for the Advisory Task Force is scheduled for Thursday, February 6 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at Richland Center High School, in the Auditorium.  Subsequent meetings are planned for February 19, February 27, March 3 (at Doudna Elementary), and March 18 at 6:00 PM at Richland Center High School, unless otherwise stated. We understand you may not be able to attend every meeting.  These meetings will be intended for members of the Advisory Task Force (ATF). The public is welcome to attend as well. Advisory recommendations will be made at the final meeting on March 18 and submitted to the Core Planning Committee.
