In August 2023, the Board of Education adopted the top four goal and priorities for the Richland School District for the '23-'24 school year, based on surveys of families and staff. Check each goal and the steps we are taking below:
At the beginning of the school year, staff members in each building completed a "Student Mapping" survey in which staff members identified the students with whom they connect, allowing administrators to identify which students had few connections.
Early in the school year, students completed a similar survey, reporting the staff members to whom they had connections.
We implemented social-emotional learning time at all levels, an initiative lead by the school counselors in each building.
We started several new connection-based programs, including Check & Connect, Strengthening Families 10-14, and Box Out Bullying. See more on our Student Health and Mental Health page.
We formed a committee of staff members (represented by various employee groups) dedicated to defining "high-quality". We solicited staff feedback on these definitions via a staff survey.
We made the Financial Management class a graduation requirement.
We launched the new PARTNER school, providing a project- and apprenticeship-based learning environment for students who want an alternative learning environment.
We continue to make our CTE program a priority and expand offerings.
We continued to offer over a dozen AP/Dual Credit/Technical Certification opportunities to students.
Please contact the Superintendent below if you have questions/comments regarding our Strategic Goals and Priorities.
