RSD Food Service
Research has shown a crucial relationship between nutrition and academic performance. We strive to offer quality meals to set our students up for daily success. Menus are planned to meet USDA specifications based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
The Richland School District is one of the few public school districts in the state to retain its own bakery department, with fresh-baked rolls, pizza crusts, and cookies.
At RCPS and RCIS, we offer breakfast and lunch (with two options daily).

🔶NEW FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR: "TRY SOMETHING NEW" PROGRAM🔶
Thanks to a generous grant, RCPS is excited to introduce the Try Something New program, designed to encourage our youngest Hornets to explore and enjoy a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables!
Students will have the opportunity to try a new fruit or vegetable three times per week—on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays—depending on the school schedule. Fresh produce will be delivered to classrooms between 12:45 and 1:00 p.m. on these days.
Teachers will receive information about the featured fruit or vegetable to share with students, helping them learn about its taste, nutrition, and benefits. We encourage all students to take at least one bite and discover something new! Our goal is to foster healthy eating habits and expand students' appreciation for fresh foods.
We look forward to seeing our students try something new!
