iThrive FAQ

iThrive blends academics with behavioral and emotional supports to meet the needs of our most complex learners. We help students build confidence, skills, and a true sense of belonging—in school and out.

iThrive is NOT designed for EVERY student, but we believe EVERY student can THRIVE!

What Services are offered at iThrive?

We will be offering a year-round school setting with scheduled breaks for students/children who find the traditional school setting to be challenging. At iThrive, our team will be working with our young students on emotional regulation, communication, social skills, academic skills, and helping them to become more successful in their daily lives. This will be done using an ABA approach.

What is ABA Therapy?

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis, also known as the science of learning. Each child is unique in how they learn and ABA is an evidence-based approach that helps improve communication, social skills, and daily living abilities.. At iThrive, we work to develop an individualized evidence-based programming to support the child's unique set of needs and help to improve your student/child's communication, social skills, daily living skills, along with continued academic learning.

Who are the support personnel at iThrive?

Your student/child's team will consist of a behavioral tech, a teacher, and a board-certified behavioral analyst, along with your student/child’s school and the student/child’s family.

What does a registered behavioral tech (RBT) do?

An RBT works directly with your student/child to help reduce your student/child's behavior and build their skill set. This is done through the use of various techniques, all while collecting and recording data on how the student/child is progressing. This data is imperative as it helps to assess the effectiveness of the interventions and changes can be made as needed. Our RBT’s will also work closely with our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to develop plans for our students and to help the student gain skills and understanding of their choices.

What role does a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) play in learning?

A BCBA works with your student/child’s team to assess, analyze, and develop interventions to help assist in your child’s behavioral needs. They use the principles of ABA therapy and the interests of your student/child to help them build skills and gain independence, which leads to helping them be more successful in school and in their daily lives.

What might a typical day look like at iThrive?

There are a wide array of what a student's schedule could look like, as each child will bring their own uniqueness to our school. Our iThrive team will work with your student/child’s school and family to help set the student up for success.

These are just some of the supports that your student/child will receive will attending iThrive:

▪ Behavioral Skills Building
▪ Group and/or Individual Academics
▪ Outdoor Play
▪ Language and Communication Activities
▪ Lunch/Snacks
▪ Sensory Breaks
▪ Group and/or Individual Social Emotional Learning

Is there a specific curriculum that is used at iThrive?

At iThrive, we will pull from various curricular approaches to create a program that best fits the child's needs of the student's academic and behavioral needs.

Who can attend iThrive?

iThrive is open to students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade who have behavioral struggles in the traditional school/classroom setting. Students can attend from other districts; however, this is based on discussion with your child's school.
